Analyse einer WordPress-Instanz mit der Developer Console
Wer schon mal eine Frage im deutschsprachigen WordPress-Forum gestellt hat, bekommt insbesondere bei Fehlern auf der Website häufig die Antwort "Hast du mal einen Blick in die Developer Console (F12) deiner Seite geworfen ?". Die Developer Console (Entwicklertools) bietet eine Menge an Informationen, die (nicht nur) bei Fehlern, sondern auch bei der Gestaltung (CSS) hilfreich sein kann. In diesem Beitrag stelle ich einige interessante Dinge dar.
Aufgrund eigener (teilweise leidvoller) Erfahrungen mit dem Navigation-Block zeige ich in diesem Beitrag anhand kleiner Videos, an welchen Stellen ich immer mal wieder „gestolpert“ bin. Wenn man die Stolperstellen kennt, dann klappt das an sich ganz gut. In WordPress 6.2 wurden wieder einige Verbesserungen vorgenommen.

Insbesondere bei der Navigation hatte ich mir schon immer bei Block Themes wie z. B. Twenty Twenty-Three gewünscht, dass die Zeile oben „angeklebt“ bleibt (sticky header). Sticky Positionierung wurde jetzt mit Gutenberg 15.0 realisiert und wird wohl auch noch in WordPress 6.2 einfließen.

Custom CSS in the site editor at Block Themes should be realized at WordPress 6.2. Custom CSS are CSS rules that are used to realize a certain design or animation in a block, for example. In the following example with the theme Twenty Twenty-Two I have provided an animation for testing. How this is realized in WordPress 6.2, I describe in the following (German) post.

Custom CSS im Site Editor bei Block Themes (WordPress 6.2)
Das bereits länger gewünschte Custom CSS im Site Editor bei Block Themes soll bei WordPress 6.2 realisiert worden. Custom CSS sind CSS-Regeln, die verwendet werden, um bei einem Block z. B. ein bestimmtes Design oder eine Animation zu realisieren. Im folgenden Beispiel beim Theme Twenty Twenty-Two habe ich dazu testweise eine Animation vorgesehen. Wie das in WordPress 6.2 realisiert wird, beschreibe ich in dem folgenden Beitrag.
Das Plugin Create Block Theme ist mit z. Zt. ca. 700+ Installationen noch relativ unbekannt. Warum das Plugin sehr interessant ist und welche Möglichkeiten das Plugin bietet, könnt ihr hier nachlesen:

Plugin Create Block Theme am Beispiel Twenty Twenty-Three - Teil 1
Die Erstellung eines Block Themes ist im Vergleich zu der Erstellung eines klassischen Themes bereits sehr viel einfacher geworden. Mit dem Plugin Create Block Theme gibt es darüber hinaus noch viele weitere Möglichkeiten, z. B. auf der Grundlage eines bestehenden Block Themes ein "eigenes" Block Theme oder eine eigene Style Variation zu erstellen. Wie das funktioniert, beschreibe ich in dem folgenden Beitrag am Beispiel des neuen Standard-Themes Twenty Twenty-Three bei WordPress 6.1.
