Unnamed waterfall in the Glarner Alps.

#WaterfallWednesday #Hiking

In the spirit of #WaterfallWednesday, I hiked into the mountains outside Vail today to a series of cascading waterfalls! Here is one of the waterfalls (left pic). To take the pic, I needed to scramble down a steep class II/III rock formation (pic on right by Lori H.). A beautiful hike including views of an expansive meadow and mountain ridge. #Colorado #mountains #waterfall

I just passed 500 followers!! Big mahalos to you all!! I hope you continue to enjoy my photos as much as I enjoy taking them! 💖

While capturing this shot, I was caught between awe and panic as the waterfall reminded me I had skipped the waterproof gear 😬

Fantastic shot - the small human figure and the spots of water on the lens really add to it!

(I once managed to kill a camera through water exposure - my first dSLR, a non-weatherproofed EOS 350D. It took a *lot* of rain - in some particularly dismal bits of Gdansk, Poland - and I got some great photos. I'm now far less worried about rain with my current camera...)
@coprolite9000@pixelfed.hylobatidae.org Thank you so much! I didn’t even realize how much the water spots added until after I saw the shot. Wow that’s a wild story about your 350D! I actually started out with a 350D, too. I didn’t manage to kill mine, but it definitely took a beating and lasted me quite a while! I’m glad your current camera is more forgiving!
@BunnyAloha
Impressive waterfall. Shot with a camera or my phone? Still interesting with the water droplets 😀
@gmsfotos@kirche.social Thanks so much! This one was with my EOS 80D. The water droplets made me a little nervous at the time, but I’m glad they added something interesting to the shot! 😊
@BunnyAloha
Ah, thank you very much. The drops made this a great photo. I have Pentax cameras. Their bodies are made of metal, so they're good for hiking, biking, skiing, and anything else you can do outdoors.
@BunnyAloha
I am at home in the Harz Mountains, the northern low mountain range here in Germany 😀
