This trip to Croatia feels like a lifetime ago, but it happened in May. Still, I have many pictures from it that I don't think I ever posted around here. Like these ones from a hidden beach.

I found it when I decided to climb some stairs I came across while exploring the Sailor Lighthouse and Monument to Fallen Sailors. That water was such a beautiful color that I still can't believe it's real. And in Croatia, I used this Kodak Pro Image 100 for the first time, and it looks even better.

The Wolfen Cine UN54, originating from the iconic Wolfen site since 1910, captures stunning black-and-white scenes. I used it for the first time in Croatia last month during a hike up Marjan Hill in Split.

Here are some of the photos from that afternoon.

Sometimes, the expired film I get on eBay doesn't work as I expected it to. And this Fujicolor NPH400 roll is a good example of a colorful failure.

I used this film roll while I was in Supetar, and I had some kind of good expectations for this film, but… As you can see here, it was a complete failure in every way possible. It happens.

Lomochrome Color '92 mimics the look of poorly stored color negative film from the early '90s, and my experience supports that comparison.

If you want a film stock that accurately reproduces real-life colors, this isn’t it. Embrace the unexpected with unusual color shifts, textures, and grain.

Wolfen Cine UN54, crafted from legendary cine film on the original Wolfen site since 1910, captures cinematic scenes in stunning black and white and I used it for the first time during my trip to Croatia last month. With a medium speed of 100 ISO, it's ideal for sunny days and detail-oriented shots. Its classic fine-grain structure and subtle contrast make it our most famous emulsion.

I took it for a hike in Split, up the Marjan Hill and here are some of the pictures I took that afternoon.

One of the films I wanted to use in Split was a Lomochrome Turquoise, which I received from the team at #Lomography to test and write an article about. I have used this film before and loved its weird colors and tones, but I have never used it in a travel scene.

Lomochrome Color '92 has been said to mimic the look of color negative film that has been poorly stored and developed at a poor photo lab from the early 1990s. From what I've seen, that comparison fits my experience.

I took it for a hike in Split, up the Marjan Hill and here are some of the pictures I took that afternoon.

If you're looking for a color film stock that faithfully reproduces the colors and tones of real life, this isn't the right choice. Using this film means embracing the unexpected, with unusual color shifts, peculiar textures, and prominent grain.

To fully enjoy LomoChrome '92, you'll have to let go of some creative control, and I'm for it!

While visiting Split, I explored the neighborhood of Split 3, known for its striking brutalist architecture from the 1970s and 1980s, reflecting the city's communist past.

I used Cinestill 50D film for the first time while walking around, and despite my initial concerns about the low ISO, the sunny weather in Croatia made it a perfect choice.
