Someone was commeinting on a video about a Google virtual presence 3d video demonstration and said they saw no use in their own life for it.

In contrast, I would LOVE a virtual 3d wall that made two rooms into one nearly seamless experience

However....there is a serious problem that all video meetings do their best to hide and that I think would be made worse by a more seamless experience.

One way video latency is frequently more than 1 second.

This causes real headaches for free-floating discussion as people on each side can each believe they are talking into conversational pauses appropriately while they BOTH feel the OTHER side keeps rudely stepping on their conversational starts and keeping them from participating.

Because this lag is usually not even acknowledged by the video services, people usually *don't realize* that they are literally always out-of-sync in time by as much as a couple of seconds.

My sister and I had a serious fight caused by this once.
