With the NWSL schedule out and MLS in preseason, I’m thinking about the coming soccer season, and curious what it will be like for my local USL2 and USLW teams. I suspect they’ll play through the World Cup; last USLW season was from 5/4 - 6/29. Maybe those games will be empty because there’s just too much soccer going on? Or maybe full of traveling fans sampling the local soccer culture and local World Cup boycotters jonesing for a fix?

Tonight #VermontGreenFC won the National #USL2 Semi-final on penalties 4-2, after a 0-0 120 minutes. Scenes as they embrace the more than 4,000 fans in the UVM Stadium. Amazing.

The Green are Eastern Conference champions for the first time in club history after scoring twice in overtime. Vermont plays for a trip to the National Championship game on Sunday, July 27 against Dothan.

Watched #VermontGreenFC win the round of 16 playoff match vs #FCMotown. Both teams were undefeated going into this game.

Hosting at #VirtueField, home of the UV #Catamounts, NCAA Div 4 National Champions.

Didn't look good for the Green, down 2-0 at 60 minutes, but a massive 15 minutes had them score 2 quick goals and then a penalty. Win 2-3 and on to the round of 8 in the #USL2 playoffs. Quite the season for the team.

The needed a tie or a win to win the division tonight. They were 2 goals down vs Western Massachusetts going into injury time. They scored twice and tied the game. They get at least 1 home game in the playoffs and maybe more.
