K. A. AndrewsSo, it looks like the admin for #Universedon has fixed a lot of the issues that have been plaguing this instance for several days. I was considering an emergency migration but decided not to worry about this. I'm glad I stayed. This instance, as mentioned before in a previous post somewhere, checks all the boxes there are to check for an account with the type of content I like to post. I'll be killing the other account I have up here, but that's only because I found a space that works better for the content that's posted there. Kudos to @wild1145 for all the effort!
Much as the hiccups with #Universedon are disconcerting, I think I'm going to ride this one out as best I can. Those of you that need to contact me urgently know where to find me. Otherwise, send me a mention of some kind and I'll get to it when I see it. It's a bit sparatic, but hey... it's being worked on as far as I know, so there's that.
Still getting a lot of Bad Gateway errors for #Universedon. They're not constant, which is odd... Haven't heard anything from the admin, so if anyone has a status update as to progress on whatever needs fixing up here, that'd be most appreciated. I really don't want to have to switch to another instance. This one checks all the boxes, and finding another one that does this is going to be annoying!

Over the years, I've met other creative and amazing online folks in person, from all over the world. But the online world is pretty corrupt anymore, and I'm unsure why I'm still here. Except, maybe hoping, there are folks who still engage as humans without promotion or agenda. Because of my ambivalence, sometimes there will be long bouts of silence aka no posts. Call it an old-life-crisis.
I like #universedon a lot. At one point I left, and tried on a couple of other servers. I got porned and spammed and came back "home." I'm nerdy and old-Trekkie enough that I found this place because @georgetakei came here last year. I truly love the concept of the #Fediverse and can't believe it took me so long to come here.
Um, did #Universedon switch to a 500 character limit? I'm getting yelled at by my client that the limit was exceeded!

I reported two #Universedon users for using a well known transphobic slur.
@lily suspended both the accounts straight away on this instance.
However, nothing at all was done about it on #Universedon. The accounts (and AFAIK the slur) are still there.
If I had evidence of more of this type of thing from that instance, I would be happy to call for a fediblock
