Bumped into one of the fledgling Manu pango (#Turdus merula) this afternoon. It was hopping about and went to hide in the long grass by the hedge.

I later nearly tripped over it while walking along the hedge line. It hadn’t gone far and hadn’t gotten off the ground. Hope no cats murder it tonight!

Father bird is back with breakfast in bed. Unfortunately for him the bed is empty. Look under the hedge!

First baby has fledged! Using those powerful hopping legs to wander away. Kids these days don’t know how lucky they are.

Our not so little babies are ready to fledge!

These Manu pango (#Turdus merula) babies are about fit to burst out of the nest now!

Parents continually transporting delicious morsels into the topiary. I’m pretending I can’t see them, and then I stop by with my own snacks of slugs and snails.

Mother Manu pango (#Turdus merula) has turned side on for today’s photo.

Mother and baby Manu pango (#Turdus merula) in the nest. We’re having dinner outside right by the entrance and the Dad likes to think nobody knows where the nest is. He’s doing laps around the table and watching us. We went inside and pretended we weren’t looking.

Found another nest in the hedge. I was wondering what a piece of straw was doing about head height in the hedge. I gave it a tug and it screamed and took off.

#Turdus of some sort. Sounded like a blackbird, however, I think it is an European song thrush. #birds
Dad exited the nest so I rushed in to get a shot of the occupants. Two baby Manu pango (#Turdus merula) and two eggs that have yet to hatch. Probably non-viable since the first baby hatched on Saturday afternoon and it’s now Monday morning.
