@redstarfish @alex Pleroma has configurable limits. By default, 5000 characters to create a post, and 100,000 characters for any downloaded posts.
They actually have it where you’re supposed to “edit” the source code, to configure stuff. The code does sorta like ‘include(“config/X.secret.exs”)’ where X.secret.exs doesn’t exist and each installation creates it. So you’re creating a file, not editing one that the devs will ever mess with, and the code to configure post limit size is deliberately accessible. There’s also an admin frontend at “/pleroma/admin” if you’d rather search through menus instead of editing a config file.
What I’d really like to see is the Fediverse using hash trees, where the only limit is how long you want to wait for a post to download.
Also, #longposting instead of #tootspam b/c #pleroma 🙌
