" I exaggerate the figure’s proportions to symbolise our own pensive burdens and the effect that it has on us. The figures are caught in a world filled with contrasts and at times, become cartoonish or unrecognisable. They are even colossal, towering over their environment uncomfortably. We can’t help but recognise all the times that we have been in those same situations - stuck in places we do not belong or quite understand. This is true for all people. "
