S08 - Special - Island of the Eels As the #TimeTeam fossick around modern-day Ely alongside a larger archaeological team, you’d be forgiven for thinking they’d have time for a beer, but no - a dry 47m 48s episode, with just one teasing glance of a pub in the distance. It’s really no season finale.
S08 - Special - Montana, USA I don’t trust Americans, not least because of the old joke that pertains to American beer & sex in a canoe. Still, I’d hoped #TimeTeam could survive the most inhospitable of climates, but we don’t even gets Pabst Blue Ribbon: a dry 49m 22s episode. Bloody dinosaurs.
S08 - Special - Coventry Cathedral #TimeTeam return to the lost medieval cathedral of St Mary’s in Coventry. The first half is effectively a rehash of the earlier (dry) episode. The second half turns out to be no wetter though - 48m 25s without a drop going down anyone’s throat. What a sad waste.
S08 - Special - Behind the Scenes at #TimeTeam A short 24m look behind the scenes, but will there be beer?? Well, thankfully, yes; and early at that - at the eve of shoot meeting, just 2m 23s into the episode. That’s technically BEFORE they’d normally have begun filming - Proto-Beer, essentially!
S08 - Special - Alveston, Gloucestershire The #TimeTeam excavate the Bone Cave just north of Bristol, and deep underground. They find signs of late prehistoric cannibalism, but nothing to wash Uncle Arthur or Auntie Martha down with until canned beer at 45m 21s, just over a minute from the end.
S08E12 - Winchester, Hampshire On the search for a leper hospital, the #TimeTeam find a lot of bones, but DRY bones. They couldn’t even find water in the bottom of the medieval well. Tony briefly poses as St Mary Magellan, but in 46m 03s the only liquid to be seen was a sizeable quantity of rain.
S08E11 - Canterbury, Kent The #TimeTeam tackle three sites around the remains of England’s first Franciscan Friary, and while it’s difficult to make out, I’m pretty sure this second screenshot show beer being poured by Tony at the 21m 08s mark, though no mention is made of it - all very sneaky!
S08E10 - Bridgenorth, Shropshire Life’s a ditch. Digging in and around the ruined, leaning tower of Bridgenorth, the #TimeTeam shift skip-loads of dirt, and find/lose/find a couple of sizeable ditches, but as far as drink is concerned we’ve skip-loads of nowt - a completely dry 46m 21s episode.
S08E09 - Holy Island, Lindisfarne The #TimeTeam find a Neolithic cup stone, the remains of a seventeenth century tankard, and then a whole brewery that no one knew was buried in the ground; Phil even makes a beer barrel, but we don’t see actual BEER until 45m 57s, with less than a minute to spare!
S08E08 - Basildon, Berkshire Did Brunel’s Great Western Railway really cut through the site of a Roman villa? Tony and the #TimeTeam investigate, “beavering away like Billyo” to quote Robin. I’d almost given up hope of any refreshments, but with seconds to spare, they break out the wine at 45m 14s.
