Kelly Hoppen light switch faceplates by Focus SB

Dezeen Showroom: Kelly Hoppen has created a self-titled range of light switch faceplates for Focus SB, which can be used to add "jewellery-like details" to an interior.

The Kelly Hoppen by Focus SB collection presents an alternative to traditional plastic electrical accessories, introducing contrasting metallic textures and subtle details in shades of black, gold and silver.

Among the five different faceplate designs are Fifty Fifty, which combines brushed and polished textures, and Corner, which has a contrasting detail on just one tip.

Dot has a restrained Braille-like pattern while Pinstripe is bisected by two vertical lines and Plank is grooved to resemble wood panels.

"I wanted to create something that would very much be part of the overall design, introducing jewellery-like details and alternative finishes," said Hoppen.

Hoppen's faceplates can be paired with Focus SB's new Contemporary toggle switch, as well as its push-button, rocker and rotary-dimmer switches.

The British manufacturer specialises in luxury electrical accessories finished in metal and manufactured to order in East Sussex.

Palladium Bespoke Metals lighting control collection by Focus SB and Lutron Electronics

Dezeen Showroom: electrical brands Focus SB and Lutron Electronics have collaborated on the Palladium Bespoke Metals collection, which gives lighting controls a metallic finish.

The Palladium Bespoke Metals collection gives Lutron Electronics' keypads a finish resembling textures like tree bark, antique metal or cork, and in colours including aged bronze or nickel silver.

The collection enables interior designers to match Lutron's lighting controls to other fixtures or accents, creating continuity throughout an interior.

In addition to the range of 19 standard finishes, there is the potential for designers to create custom finishes, by working with Focus SB's project support consultants. The designer has to provide a physical example of a piece of metal or ironmongery that they'd like Focus SB to match.

The liquid metal finishes come from British premium electrical accessories manufacturer Focus SB's recently launched Nature Inspired collection and are all applied by hand.

The finishes are applied to Lutron Electronics' HomeWorks QS Wired Palladiom raw brass faceplate kit, which feature one- or two-column keypads with buttons in white or black polymer.

Nature Inspired electrical switches by Focus SB

Dezeen Showroom: British brand Focus SB has created the Nature Inspired range of switches and sockets with a distinctive liquid metal finish.

Focus SB describes the Nature Inspired line as "a first for the world of electrical accessories" because the brand uses materials that are considered difficult or impossible to apply to electrical equipment.

The range includes switches, socket outlets and control system keypad faceplates, which are available in liquid metal finishes such as gold brass, aged bronze, nickel silver and black bronze.

The finishes are applied by hand and emulate the natural textures and patterns of tree bark, antique metal or pitted stone.

Focus SB created the range together with liquid metal finishing experts Anka Bespoke in response to growing demand from interior designers for a unique aesthetic for electrical accessories.

"Interest from the UK market and the Far Eastern markets has been exceptional and Focus SB is now looking to expand its Nature Inspired collection to include other unique finishes and processes to continue to challenge the norm and break the mould," said Focus SB's managing director Gary Stevens.
