Just encountered #Samsung ’s well thought out monitor stand when attaching spouse's monitors to a pole using the #VESA mounts.

Yeah, it’s not removeable without cracking open the monitor case and undoing the retaining screws from the inside of the rear panel.

So, Samsung gave it enough thought to put the VESA point on the monitor and document using it in the manual, but not enough to allow removal of the existing stand so you can actual mount it.

Bizarre.

After a conversation, I decided to see if real carbon fiber phone cases actually existed because of how stupid the concept is.

If you don't know: Real woven carbon fiber wrapped around a radio device will behave as a faraday cage.

Most of the cases are actually aramid fiber and made to look like carbon fiber. The ones that do use real carbon fiber have reviews like “wireless charging doesn't work".

I have always failed to understand why someone found the design of the American pedestrian lights smart.
I mean it shows a white walking man for a few seconds and then a red stop-hand with a countdown.
Any UX designer would say that the red stop hand and countdown implies that you need to stop for x seconds before walking ....but noooo - like many other "American standards" its completely oppositeand means that you can walk until the countdown is done.
