Interesting point on #StartTheWeek about people refusing to call what's happening right now "fascism": if you give it that name, then you have to act.
Enjoyed listening to #StartTheWeek today, especially as it had a section on the recently published book of #IrisMurdoch poems🀩

Just played and well worth a listen :

Listening to #bbcstarttheweek, about Christian sexuality. One of the "experts" just found out that the Bible is in fact a collection of disparate books (well, duh!). And now they are telling us that it's used to control women's bodies (again: duh!)

The conversation on the Emperor's New Clothes over the new tech billionaires on #StartTheWeek is sprightly and sprinkled with the example of Lot.

I would like to hear how tenuous the wealth of these billionaires actually are. For a good deal of them it's made out of perceived value, leveraged debt and the complexity of paper.

These are not well founded empires.

Ah the myth that the Conservative party has only recently governed for 13 years from Thatcher onwards. Which misses out the 51-63 Conservative govts which apart from the important interregnum of Atlee had continuity with the Baldwin/Chamberlain prewar administrations.
