DaevienStill kinda sad I found an interesting Ibanez 2030 short scale #bass locally for cheap but the person never replied to my message (even sent shortly after posting) and then yanked listing.
It kind of matched all my requirements - short scale since I want to see if that helps with my back and hands, it's definitely something different than the normal and it was quite cheap. I have a number of other oddball basses so it would have been right at home with some early 80s #matsumoku basses and a late 90s #ibanez #sr800
Ah well, I guess I'll just have to be patient and see what else floats around the local markets. Sometimes interesting things do show up.
