Meet Molly & Matilda, two girl guinea pigs about a week out of the shelter. Molly (hairless) has a head tilt, usually caused by an untreated ear infection. Despite that, she’s perky, alert, and acts like a normal guinea pig (but of course, she’ll be checked out by the rescue’s trusty vet to make sure all is well with her).

DID YOU KNOW?
💕 Hairless guinea pigs (also called skinny pigs) require more care than most other guinea pigs and are considered somewhat special needs. They also typically don’t do well in shelters so bringing them out in foster care to a knowledgeable rescue was essential.
💕 Both Molly & Matilda are currently on the lookout for a long term foster or experienced human looking to care for them for the rest of their lives.

Special Needs pets can make wonderful companions, but they are often overlooked at shelters ~ They may need more time to adjust to a new environment or may require other accommodations.
