We went to see the skywhales this evening... unfortunately they weren't able to take them up in the air which was a bit of a let-down, but they were gorgeous all the same. Kid3 was at a friend's house so didn't come along but I took Kid1 and Kid4 and then Kid2 came and met us too (she was there with her boyfriend).
The weather was pleasant and they turned the lights off around the oval towards the end, which made the whole thing very atmospheric. I'd say there was a couple of thousand people there, everyone seemed chill and happy, a generally lovely vibe overall
