My #SIGGRAPH adventure begins with getting to the airport three hours before my flight - because I'm stupid - and clearing security in 5 minutes. Then after a two hour flight, it took me another two hours to get to the hotel. I haven't been to LA since before the pandemic and I hate it with every fiber of my being. DigiPro tomorrow, then a week of talks and panels and vendor meetings and aimlessly wandering the expo. But first, an overpriced meal at this fancy ass hotel. 1/?

I don't have a lot of time to watch #SIGGRAPH2024 talks 😭But I've watched some more!
"Introduction to Real-Time Ray Tracing" (Chris Cascioli, Laura Reznikov) : For someone like me who didn't have the time yet to investigate RTRT, this is a great introduction. I didn't know about all the new types of shaders used by these techniques. Exciting!

Direct #SIGGRAPH2024 contact tested positive for #COVID19. Will probably do a second test tomorrow or rhe day after that, at my new destination, hopefully a local pharmacy has a clinic with a rapid test

Story-wise my favorite entry in this years #SIGGRAPH2024 Electronic Theater is "Au revoir mon monde" (Goodbye my world) from Ecole Mopa. Hilarious setup & beautiful end! Can't wait for the full release.

So anyway, was 2 degrees separated from someone who tested positive for #COVID19 at #SIGGRAPH2024 . Apparently, the pharmacies downtown don't do rapid testing , or don't have appointments, but bought a rapid test and tinwas negative.

I did feel a bit down during the conference, but probably mostly due to the AC in the convention center, combined with temperature changes out and some lack of sleep #SIGGRAPH #CovidIsNotOver

I must say that I feel like last man (person) standing at #SIGGRAPH. Glad that people kept pushing me to visit Meow Wolf. That was insane ( a bit on the expensive side) and a good way to cap my 30th conference
