This is also my own take on server owners having full control and power over their server and hiring process.

They're as bad as the SCP they even ban criticism about their actions, hiring process and server politics.

They don't know how to relinquish power and control.

They are like the SCP in every regards, down to being power and control hungry.

If you are in such servers, leave them immediately because you're in the modern era USSR.

Any criticism will lead you to be sent to the gulag (receive a ban).

If you're a server owner reading this:

• Give your members and staff control;
• Give your members and staff power;
• Add direct democracy to your server;
• Stop centering it around your person;
• Stop having control and power;
• Hire developers;
• Hire Admins 5 at a time;
• Advertise your server weekly;
• Stop banning people due to criticism;
• Stop full human verification;
• Stop vetting new members in;

@tchambers Sounds great! The #BigServers are overloaded. Options like https://indieweb.social are starting to pop up. We need many more #NewServers! However, there is no information on the #ServerTechnology, #ServerAdmin, financial resources or long term goals. Is the server a PC, a server farm, or #hosted on AWS? What's the goal for the next couple years? As a pioneer, it would be great if you lead the way in communicating some description of the current #ServerImplementation and future plans.
