Teenager on the way to a high school exam in Gaza is killed in an Israeli strike

Relatives say that a teenage girl in Gaza say was killed in an Israeli strike as she was making her way to her high school exam. The Israeli military said the strike, which was carried out in Gaza City on Monday, had targeted a Hamas militant but acknowledged that an “uninvolved person” may have also been harmed. Footage of the scene that circulated online showed two destroyed vehicles, rescue workers and bloodstains on the ground. More than 1,000 people have been killed in Gaza since a fragile ceasefire took effect last October and about 3,260 others injured, the local health ministry says.
