The plastic hook is quite hard and relatively thick, so my friend was concerned I wouldn't be able to cut it apart.

I explained that I cut plastics all the time: a little dollar store #hacksaw works amazingly well for the cut, and a multipack of fine-grit #sandpapers from #CanadianTire* lets me take care of any nasty edges.

* Seriously, automotive refinishing sandpapers are like MAGIC for fixing plastic things that are too sharp/snag, etc. ❤️
