Wooh, got a new PB while I was (distractedly) cubing! New best single is 12.37, and a week or two ago I got an "average of 5" of 15.95s 😎

I knew it was coming; I've been getting more and more 13s. Also, this week, I finally got my ao25 and then ao50 below 20 seconds, so I think I can count myself as sub-20 πŸ™‚

Holy heck, NMC is fantastic when using roux method for fewest move competitions.

There's the basic benefit of more freedom designing F2B, but then you have to spend 3 moves just to fix those centers.

However, there are 8 different ways to do it, so it's an easy candidate for insertion. But deferring it until after CMLL gives you a super easy way to influence LSE.

Managed to drop from 31stm(38htm) to 25stm(31htm) using an otherwise standard roux solve that could probably be done as a speed solving solution with adequate lookahead.

Roux Method Speed Solvers has a weekly competition and this week is competition #420 (ending in 2 hours)!
I know it's juvenile, but for the FMC, I've done my part and gotten a 69-move solve 😎

For the cubers: RMS's Fewest Moves Competition strays a bit from the WCA's. The idea is to see how efficiently you can do a Roux solve, so you have to use Roux method, it has to be linear (no Insertions, no NISS), it's untimed, just have to submit by the end of the week, and move count is in STM instead of HTM.

I've been practicing CFOP method more lately, and I'm still nowhere near my Roux times. I do 4LLL usually, but sometimes when I go to orient edges, I know it's going to end up with a corner comm so I can finish it out ZBLL-style 😁

Anyway, got a sub-30 CFOP time by using an 8-move commutator to orient+permute corners 😎

Yesterday I got my first sub-25 average of 12 after what felt like weeks. Today I did a "303 solve session" as a joke/challenge and got a new personal best (15.54 seconds) as well as my first sub-20 ao5 (19.08s) \o/

Also improved my ao12 (22.72s) 😎

Let's see if I can be sub-20 by the end of the year XD

I can now solve a Rubik's cube in under 25 seconds, on average!

I was doing warmup solves this morning and decided to take it easy on my brain and not do the complicated stuff I've been learning. Apparently, once I've warmed up, that makes it way easier to do planning and lookahead.

(For the cubers: it's not an actual "Rubik's" brand, of course :P)
