Ross Hall Stables in the Crookston area of Glasgow. Part of the Ross Hall Estate, these stables were used by James Cowan, who had grown his empire from a single horse and cart into a major transportation business, to breed his award-winning Clydesdale horses. The stables housed not only the horses, but also contained accommodation for the grooms and stable hands.

Ross Hall in the Crookston area of Glasgow. Constructed in the 1870s in a Scots Baronial style, it was built for James Cowan. Born in 1830, Cowan started a buisness with a single horse and cart and over his lifetime grew it into a major transportation business serving railway and shipping companies in both Scotland and England. It is now used as a hospital.
