Second stop on my hike on the Appalachian Trail was Eddy Pond! I ate a late lunch on this beautiful, half-frozen lake.

Apparently a beaver had had lunch there, too! Unfortunately, I didn't see the animal itself.

The last day of hiking on my trip to the US took me along the Appalachian Trail. I had planned doing the first part of the trip together with my mother, which was nice and also resulted in my getting a pick-up from a different spot, so I could go a longer route.

Unfortunately, we started much later than I had wanted, and we were much slower than I had thought (mom is in her 70s now 🙈). Additionally, temperatures were lower than forecast which was all not ideal.

Anyway, here are the pictures up until Piazza Rock (seen in the third picture, marked by red pin on the map). It is actually a lot bigger than the wide angle shot makes it appear.

We reached it just after noon, which was way later than planned. I have to say the hike till then was nice but not spectacular. Lots of dense forest cover with almost no views at all.
