Question: when I’m writing, if someone uses a foreign word, I usually put the word in italics.

I told him to say <i>adieu</i> when he left.

If the entire sentence is in italics, I also include the #quotationmarks, if any.

<i>"Bonjour, mon ami."</i>

But what if only the beginning is italicized? Does the leading q-mark or other adjacent #punctutation get italicized?

<i>"Allo</i>, how are you?"

<i>"Allo,</i> how are you?"

"<i>Allo,</i> how are you?"

"<i>Allo</i>, how are you?"
