i picked up a philodendron brasil that was in rough shape from a local supermarket. it had one of those inner trays that hadn't allowed excess water to flow out... and it had simultaneously dried out excessively at the top... all of its leaves had brown holes in them and/or were browned around the edges. it's finally starting to put out healthier looking leaves a month or so later. this leaf isn't perfect, if you look closely you can see a little brown spot that might develop into a small hole in the leaf, but overall it's by far the best leaf the plant has put out yet. it's getting better!
