Lots of flu related hobby activities the past days.. I'll spare you the photos.

Anyway. Made some progress on a project where I'm constructing a colorful educational toy / gadgety object for toddler.

And yes it is actually this shiny in real life. The one golden yoghurt bowl to rule them all. ✨

The previous days I finished the bird bath and wrote a little how-to instruction on my website.

Day 6, 7, 8 & 9

https://io.leslunesdejupiter.eu/35542.html

#pepijn365

Something very different. Cobbled together an online grocery list tool Juliette and I can use together. It's based on a little tool we've used at work for many years, I mostly changed the workflow to a shopping list format and added layout.

Appears to work as intended. Testing is over the next week or two :-)

(and no, you're not getting the link to test the security for us ;-))

Day 5

#pepijn365

Tonight I 3d printed the remaining parts and cut some PVC tubing. It all fits nicely.

Day 4

#pepijn365

Finished the 3d design in FreeCAD. The structure consists of three brackets connected by two lengths of electrical tubing (20mm or 16mm via sleeves).

The third bracket is printing right now. I'm very satisfied how it is using minimal supports (and thus minimal plastic waste).

While simpler in looks this thing will compliment the #OpenBirdFeeder
#BirdShitCastle3000 (

Day 2 & 3

#pepijn365

ok then. In december I attempted a 24 days of hobby stuff. And then expanded that into a 365 day challenge which I soon abandoned (https://mastodon.online/@Pepijn/115646570564212008).

It's februari. So let's try again. Here's what I did yesterday :)

Project BirthCastleBath. In the image are the the first steps into an easy to print / low material costs frame for a pole mounted bird bath using IKEA Kalas children dishes for the removable bath (/saucer section of the StarTrek StarShip BirthBath..)

Day 1

Day 22/365

The 3d model is ready and parts were printed in decent quality. Most of the structure is painted in something reminding me of typical 'Swedish Red' but is in fact "the red paint I had".

The inner door is a "glass panel" as for the 1:1 scale model I'm considering using a glass sauna door we still have (it was a miss-delivery, and never picked up again).

Not yet sure how to do the windows, let alone 1:87 scale #chicken.

Day 20-21/365

Another little project in HO scale.

Our #chicken need a new coop and we decided to repurpose an old greenhouse for this. The existing building is 90% of what we want (double pane glass, decent walls, excellent door) and has space next to it for an outer run.

To aid planning (and just because) I'm building a 1:87 scale version first. 3D design is done and I've printed a (very rough) prototype. More tomorrow.

Day 19/365

We have a shed! I installed all the panels, door and a window, and did some minor weathering.

Now to figure out what to do with it.

Day 18/365 And there was (a little bit of yellow) light!

Installed a light. Looks nice. Also got to use my fancy mini saw. So overall excellent fun.

I'll try to be consistent with the hashtag below so you can easily mute his thread if it bores you :-)
