I have not finalised what goes on my head, but these are in play.

- Buff Açai Sahara style cap. It's going on the FRC but the Drakensberg. It breathes well and the long neck cover provides additional sun cover.
- Buff windproof. This doubles as a reasonable head warmer.
- Buff 3-season. Very lightweight. Also functions on my wrist to protect my smartwatch or to wipe my forehead.
- OR beanie. Nice & warm.
- Karpos beanie. I took it twice to the Drakensberg, do I know it works.
- Crazy Fast & Light beanie. Not as warm as the other two, but reasonable when active to keep the cold off my ears.

For the FRC, buffs and hat. If it is really cold at night I can sleep in the windproof buff, or I can combine it with hoodie of my puffy.

For the Drakensberg, cold is maybe -5ºC at 04:00 if unlucky. I could take lightweight beanie and combine with puffy.
