Borgund Stave Church is a 12th-century masterpiece of Norwegian wooden architecture.
Thousands of similar ore-pine stave churches and chapels were built around the time as a part of Norwegian transition to Christianity.
The church was built without a single nail; however, over 11,200 wooden dowel pins hold the structure together.
