Since DJV went into a hiatus, I have tried #mrv2 more than once but it wouldn't do. Brought down my whole Linux desktop last time I tried, just by showing/hiding certain parts of the GUI.

So I've compiled #OpenRV but I really want something that loads faster than that clunky old player (even though highly scriptable, RV brings 20 years worth of baggage including its own programming language. OCIO feels just bolted on).

So, great thing that #DJV got an update!

I wanted to give MrViewer2 another go. Whenever you play or pause playback, a toolbar at the bottom disappears or pops up. This moves the position of the playback buttons and scales the image viewport. That's such an annoying design decision. I've spent a few moments in the preferences and found out how to turn this off. But how many people don't bother and dismiss the player after using it for 30 seconds because of this?
