Glue traps cause unimaginable suffering to vulnerable animals who are simply doing their best to survive. Please urge Lowe’s Home Improvement to ban the sale of glue traps at all of its retail store locations. Unsuspecting mice, rats, birds, insects, reptiles, and amphibians are just some of the victims of cruel and unnecessary glue traps. These merciless traps are made with industrial-strength glue to keep suffering animals from escaping. Once caught, the terrified animals struggle to free their bodies from the extremely sticky traps for prolonged periods until they eventually become too exhausted to fight. They experience starvation, dehydration, agony, and immense fear as they slowly die. Large glue traps can also potentially trap medium-sized animals, such as cats, dogs, rabbits, squirrels, and raccoons, causing them fear, injury, and possible death. Many humane preventative measures can be taken to keep mice from entering your home. Making sure your home is clean, disposing of food waste and debris in a timely manner, and sealing up holes where mice can enter from the outside are effective strategies. If a mouse enters your home, humane traps that allow you to return the animals to their natural habitat without killing them are available.
