The "country" end of the layout is a little less bare.

Mush up some Woodland Scenics "course turf" with scenic glue, glom it onto the branches. It dries into a nice blob of treeish looking stuff.

(One thing to look out for--if you want to glue on more stuff, getting it wet will re-liquify the glue so your already done foliage might fall off!)

Been working on an #NScale tree. I found some brown floral wire at a craft store. Twisted some strands together, and twisted the branches around (I love trees but they do kinda look like eldritch horrors sometimes). Slathered on some brown brown powder (it may actually be dirt; it's been in my modelling supplies so long I forget where it came from) mixed with scenic glue (basically matte-drying white glue).

The corduroy-pants-scrap field is now blended into the scenery. #modeltrain #ModelTrolley #ModelTraction #nscale #nscaletraction #MicroLayout
The next #ModelRailroad scenery project begins with old pair of corduroy pants. #modeltrain #ModelTrolley #ModelTraction #nscale #nscaletraction #MicroLayout

Making it B&W so it looks like an old movie :)

Here's the atmospherically illuminated layout.

More work on streetlights for my #NScale #ModelTram/#ModelTrolley/#ModelTraction #MicroLayout. I've been using tiny LED's inside of beads. The beads turn into nice warm-glowing lamp globes, but they have holes all the way through and bright light was shining out the top, so I needed to put opaque caps on top (which most globe-shaped streetlights actually have, anyway).

I tried just dabbing paint but it wasn't opaque enough. So I painted some electrical tape, and cut out little circles with a home-made tool. It's a piece of brass tubing which I sharpened with a Dremel. The little circles of tape got stuck in the tube so I used a rod to push them out (which meant having to remove the sharpened tool from the pin-vise handle each time, which is a little awkward, but it's a small layout and I didn't have to do too many.
