@WEBylines They have been trying to close the Maternity Unit one way or another for 16 years, despite Stroud Maternity Matters proving in 2006 that it actually saves the Trust money (because, let’s face it, the safety and well-being of families is not their top priority). They seemed to think they could do it this time under the radar (they made no announcement about it until SMM forced them to)
