Commando Cody, as Pete points out, is the character from the Republic serial. Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen were a country rock novelty band from the 70s.

Also, the voice of Dr. Theopolis is not Mel Blanc, like Twiki, it's Howard F. Flynn.

Errata: I refer to "Curse of Dracula" with Michael Nouri as a movie. It's not. It's a television series. In fact, it was part of the "Cliffhangers" omnibus series (which I watched obsessively as a kid.)

Also, we've plugged it before, but the best takes on the period of Universal Studios we're discussing is from Sam Gennawey's "Universal VS Disney" book. We learned so much from it.
