@ben while part of the drive away from 'The Bird's was due to bots, I really like how the #fediverse embraces the use of bots transparently.

I think bots (and the API) can help form the interoperability layer while these other platforms join the ecosystem.

In my 'youth' I experienced the power of #IRC bots that helped to manage channels and also serve up content and files. #longliveorc #longlivebots
