I've talked here before about my efforts to preserve and make available the archives of the long-lived disk magazine Loadstar. Please forgive me for linking to that once again, but sales of it help me obtain food: Loadstar Compleat. If you want to see more past

Set Side BSoftdisk and Big Blue Disk
I managed to find a CD image on the Internet Archive of 166 issues, plus one demo, of Softdisk! Additionally I found a bunch of issues of Softdisk's IBM PC product Big Blue Disk, on myabandonware! Both places, it's reputed, are former projects of the id Software guys.

LoadstarAn Intro to Loadstar
One of the things I'm working on for my menu system is a short history of Loadstar, that also mentions some notable facts about it. Here's what I've got so far, if anyone wants to suggest additions. (It's not very well ordered yet.):
-- Loadstar was an incredibly long-lived computer magazine...
LoadstarVCF Southeast 2026

LoadstarMurder in the Museum - DOS conversion

LoadstarGumshoe
I re-visited this game, and I still can't figure it out!
It is Dave's puzzle detective game from LS #111.
I'm guessing the key is to find out which suspect arrived first (or is it last)?
LoadstarCrimbo 1982 Demo
This was just released, an amazing remake of the 1982 Commodore Christmas demo. Seeing things like this makes me realize how much potential in still in the C64!
LoadstarCommodore Codey - First Editor
For the first few issues of Loadstar, the editor went by the name of "Commodore Codey" - Does anybody know who this really was? (It's also interesting to note that these early issues had a space shuttle theme - programs were called "payload programs" - and there was a take off sound when loading...
