Super interesting article about digital restoration of van Goghs paintings returning the hues of non lightfast and long faded pigments. The journal has more articles on the use of pigments by van Gogh, who wrote about them extensively to his brother.

One month in and this is how my wilting bouquet changed so far. It's not much, but visible and I hope to see more brown in the yellow flowers soon. PY40 is considered lightfast but turns brownish after a while. Perfect for this subject.

Latwly I'm very intrigued to use fugitive paints. They have such a bad reputation, but I think there is use to them. Ideas are to use time as a factor and create paintings that would change purposefully and not accidentally. Like a sunny day turning into a foggy day, wilting flowers turning from bright yellows to browns etc. Plastics use this all the time with decay etc. Why not implement it in watercolour?
