Yesterday, a biologist came to assess our meadows. Additional parts of our meadows were once again classified as species-rich mountain meadows.
Spike of a Crested Hair Grass (Koeleria pyramidata) in our flower meadow.
Pyramid-leaved Koeleria grows in calcareous grasslands, on sheep pastures, along roadsides, or in sparse pine forests, on moderately dry, poor, alkaline, mostly calcareous, humus-rich loess, loam, or clay soils, as well as on sand.
The species disappears when the soil is well-fertilized.
