Eldest Wax had her carefully packed Tesco Scan-as-you-go shopping selected for checking.

She explained to the assistant that she had also been to B&Q and that there were items in the bag from that shop.

Woman demanded a receipt to prove she had bought them, EW couldn't produce a receipt so was threatening to detain EW. All the items were home branded B&Q stuff Tesco don't sell.

In the end EW said she'd pay for them if they would scan. Surprise! They wouldn't scan.

I have huge issues with those darn reversing alarms too: I'm rural, very rural, just sheep and cows around me yet the rubbish collection truck driver still believes he needs to warn the animals he's reversing down the lane. Even when there aren't any around.
Every Fri morning 6am, 800+ yds driving with the bloody alarm on, for mostly no-ones benefit!!!!
Surely there's an on/off switch for that goddam siren!

Why? Why insist on having the telly on? I successfully turned it off as nobody wanted to watch it, but a job’s worth insisted on turning it back on again! All it’s doing is disturbing everyone. God, I hate rules for rules sake. (Pretty funny though!)
