Ondanks de zomer staat de toekomst niet stil. Binnenkort is Space niet langer the final frontier. We moeten ons daar op voorbereiden, vindt ook het Nederlandse bedrijf Space Born dat onderzoek doet naar menselijk leven in de ruimte. "We zijn vooral geïnteresseerd om te kijken of voortplanting er überhaupt mogelijk is" reageert Angelo Vermeulen. Hij is bioloog en ruimtevaartonderzoeker, verbonden aan de Technische Universiteit van Delft. De bedoeling is om een eicel en een zaadcel samen te voegen in de ruimte. Exciting update from our partner, Independence-X Aerospace in Malaysia! They've achieved a successful drop test of the MERCAP reentry capsule, a crucial component for our upcoming IVF experiments in space. Using a high-altitude balloon, the capsule was dropped from 20km to assess vehicle dynamics. In our ARTIS mission we'll send an IVF incubator into orbit on board MERCAP.

Finally, I can officially anounce this exciting news! 👩🚀 👩🚀 I have taken up the position of CTO (Chief Technology Officer) at SpaceBorn United, a company dedicated to advancing human reproduction in space.
From being an external advisor since its inception, I'm now overseeing all technology development at the company. Our current priority is crafting an IVF-in-space incubator with a brilliant team of international scientists and engineers.
