#AWOOOO a new Researcher Pack member has joined us, he collaborates with Ruth on her #IrishCaveBones projects but we welcome Patrick Randolph-Quinney to #VikingDublinDogs project to help Ruth with all of the bone shape/size analysis of the #dogs & #horses. Welcome to the Pack, Pat!
2. This part of the project will involve wonderful accrued knowledge of @StillJustRena and @Ruthfcarden & more analysis, and is a cross-over project with Ruthโ€™s #IrishCaveBones. Both Ruth & Rena are funded by the Irish Research Council & wonderful opportunity to collaborate on horses through time! Please re blog both posts, thanks ๐Ÿ™
Itโ€™s out now, tune in for a listen. I enjoyed sharing my story and my research with @mnutty & @Johnleemedia. On all platforms,
Hereโ€™s the Spotify link (platform I use the most): https://spotify.link/hreboNOFvBb #irishcavebones #VikingDublinDogs #WomenInSTEM #LoveIrishResearch #IrishResearch #zooarchaeology #IrishArchaeology
The night owl in me, has me writing the full outline of Reindeer Paper 1 Draft 0, where I spill the story onto paper, no citations, the facts as much as possible.
Create the flow of a story thatโ€™s interesting to the reader (and me). I do some of my best writing in the dark listening to the whispers of #IrishCaveBones!

More from Killuragh cave, Ireland. This distal humerus (fore leg) bone from a pig of wild boar found in the same pit fill as Arctic lemming, Irish mountain hare and wood mouse. Hopefully we can get it radiocarbon dated. Very visible parallel fine cut incised marks on the bone associated with butchering practices by humans. #IrishCaveBones #pigs #cutmarks #wildboar #irisharchaeology #cavearchaeology #archaeology #zooarchaeology
Starting to prepare #IrishCaveBones from Killuragh Cave, Co. Limerick for Licencing applications to the National Museim of Ireland, for radiocarbon dates, #aDNA and stable isotopes from multi-species. Including #dogs ! Will be photographing these & more later in the week and filling in the licence forms. Also some unidentified bone fragments will go for ZooMS analysis to determine the their species. #loveirishresearch #bones #cave #quaternary #palaeozoology #zooarchaeology #Pleistocene
