Inoculation is a medical term, referring to the introduction of a vaccine etc. Inosculation is when 2 trees rub and fuse together. It may be the clue for grafting. The thinner #tree was cut years ago and the big one has been holding and feeding it since then. They "wake up" together in the #spring and "go to sleep" together in the #autumn

I came across these trees while wandering around in the forest. They have grown together! One has gone right through the other and they have merged. Wikipedia tells me this is called inosculation.
