A large immigration detention camp in Texas is closed to visitors amid measles outbreak

A lawmaker says a large immigration detention camp in Texas is closed to visitors and attorneys due to a measles outbreak. U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar says there are 14 active measles cases at the detention center on the Fort Bliss Army base and 112 people are being isolated. Escobar is an El Paso Democrat whose district includes the camp. Escobar says it will remain closed until March 19 or March 20. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Camp East Montana, as the facility is known, opened last year.
