EliThe #Lichtspiel / #Kinemathek is ready for the screenings of #16mm #film on a carbon arc projector Friday, 28th and Saturday, 29th June 2024 at #ilcinemaritrovato in #bologna on the Piazzetta Pasolini.
Cinema is not dead, at least not in #Bologna at #ilcinemaritrovato #filmfestival. In addition to the digital projections, there are many analogue print projections on #70mm #35mm and #16mm. For example BÍLÝ RÁJ (1924). Originally shown on #nitrate, now restored including the original colouring on polyester, projected on a 35mm carbon arc light projector.

On my way back home from a wonderful edition of #IlCinemaRitrovato in Bologna. As a surprise, I got to see "Quién sabe" as my penultimate screening yesterday – the Damiano Damiani flick from which this year's affiche (poster, bag, catalogue cover) was taken. Nine days, 50+ screenings plus one lecture, around 75 films from 1 to 150 minutes (38 long ones, the rest in programmes of shorts), including live performances by various musicians and the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
