Kory MillerNot sure what the online scene looks like for the sort of people who walk around with Geiger counters in their pockets, but I recently started wearing one out and about, and about had a heart attack while walking through a retail store.
As I walked past a person my pocket started beeping. Alarmingly. Not wanting to cause a fuss I quickly walked past some folks, pulled out my GMC-800, and tried to process what was causing the big numbers. It was already dropping, but rose again as one of the people I'd just passed walked past me.
Extremely quick web search tipped me off about various radiation treatments causing elevated readings. I assume this was the case, rather than someone walking around with an orphan source in their pockets...
To finally get to the point of my post:
1: I'm not too happy with the GQ Data Viewer program indicated for use from my meter's manual. What sorta (preferably Open Source) projects exist for viewing/graphing/playing back log dumps from meters?
2: I was frazzled while yanking the meter out of my pocket and so can't remember the numbers I was seeing, but I though they were much higher in the moment than the CSV logs I attached show. Perhaps me hastily smashing buttons to mute the dang thing caused those weird jumps in the viewer playback (attached video)?
