Georgian Townhouses on Woodside Crescent just to the west of the City Centre. They were designed by George Smith and were built in 1832.

Many Glaswegians will be familiar with the Garage Nightclub on Sauchiehall Street, but how many know that part of it is housed in a Georgian villa?

Built in 1812 for a button manufacturer called James Deakin, it's one of a row of six such villas called Albany Place which have been swallowed up by the later commercial development of Sauchiehall Street.

I think this is one of a number of cast iron gas lamps outside the late Georgian townhouses along Bath Street in Glasgow. Most have lost their tops, but many of posts, with their distinctive bird heads, remain.

Late Georgian/early Victorian Townhouse on Bath Street in Glasgow. Part of a terrace of similar houses designed by Robert Black and built in the mid-1800s. Its neighbour was demolished in May 2002 as it had become unstable.

The North Claremont Street facade of Royal Crescent in the west end of Glasgow. Designed by Alexander Taylor and build in the 1830s and 40s, this is the terminal pavilion of a terrace of classical style Georgian townhouses. When it catches the early morning sun, this is my favourite view of these buildings.
