@laura

Very sad that the forum is gone (but I do get and support the reasoning).

I tooted some content with #fromIndieForum to maybe keep up with some discussions , but so far noone jumped in.

Anyways, keep up your great work, Laura!

@human_connection

well, they are all gone now :-(

#fromIndieForum

(but I was very lucky I still could browse some of it back then - the announced deadline hat allready passed )

#fromIndieForum

...this seems to be another positive counter-example:

https://solar.lowtechmagazine.com/2018/09/how-to-build-a-lowtech-website/

From that homepage: solar.lowtechmagazine.com :

" This is a solar-powered website, which means it sometimes goes offline"

…and I think this is acceptable!

We are very used to "everything is always possible" but giving up on that in certain situations might help us to open up for other possibilities:

"Everything is HUUUUGE - Software disenchantment"

Link to:

http://tonsky.me/blog/disenchantment/

another thought occurred to me:

This (everything gets bigger, with no real reason or benefit), is not limited to software/computer hardware at all, it’s everywhere, e.g. cars, fridges, houses, meals.

It’s a sad thing as it works against the limitations of our planet! 😞

Software disenchantment

Everything is going to hell and nobody seems to care

If you care for #ethicalSoftware, you probably also (should) care for #ethicalBanking:

In general, there’s the “The Global Alliance for Banking on Values” ( http://www.gabv.org/ ).

In Europe, I know about #Triodos (triodos.com )

In Germany there is (amongst others)

#GLS-Bank (GLS.de / @glsbank ! )

and

#EthikBank (ethikbank.de )

(I personally do banking with both GLS and Triodos and also have shares / cooperative stake in them)

Indi.ie-Foum is about to close :-(
I have exported my content to local drive.

In addition, I now go through it, trying to find things whorth (re-)sharing here.

I'll use #fromIndieForum for those toots.
( I think I should not include links, as they will soon brake)
