I dont (yet) have the language to effectively describe this typeface succinctly. I found the curves on the N, M, and A very beautiful and fascinating. Its on the Ferry from Battery park (Manhattan) to Govenors Island. The ferry interior decor looks circa 1930's. I wonder if this type design is from that era. I'll try to describe it using hashtags:
