I had a dream #Filenes reopened and thus holiday traffic at the malls became a little less congested. I miss it and wish it could have stayed open until I was of an employable age so I could work there, probably in the jewelry or cosmetics department. #departmentstores #memories #alwayssomethingtheretoexciteme

I remember writing two papers, both on social or technical "innovations" that originated in the 1890s: I wrote one on #Filenes, which was among the first department stores in the US, and another on the #skyscraper. The course really delved into how society was changing in that era.
