beautiful by @RebeccaSolnit: “The fabric of this country is forever being torn apart by hate and exclusion; it is forever being stitched into new patterns, new connections, new relationships … a quilter's art of bringing the fragments together into a whole.”

thinking of @francesbell, the creators of the #FemEdTechQuilt and the #AIDSQuilt, Rosa Parks, and all who carefully stitch together resistance & hope in so many ways.

Solidarity Stitches Us Together: Today, World AIDS Day, Is Also the 70th Anniversary of Rosa Parks's Historic Protest

I saw two radically different versions of what a quilt could be yesterday and yet they spoke to the same issues. I caught the show Routed West: Twentieth-Century African American Quilts in California at the Berkeley Art Museum Sunday afternoon. I love quilts and while I could love them purely

#HE4Good Chapter 10. 'HE4Good assemblages: FemEdTech Quilt of Care & Justice in Open Education’ by @francesbell , @lornamcampbell , @giuliaforsythe , @loumycroft & @Ammienoot is a startlingly original, posthuman account of the #FemEdTechQuilt a collaborative quilting project emerging from the #FemEdTech network. The chapter explores the quilt's material & digital artefacts and its origins as an activist undertaking.

10. HE4Good assemblages: FemEdTech Quilt of Care and Justice in Open Education

FemEdtech is a reflexive, emergent network of people learning, practising and researching in educational technology converging on the intersections of feminism, education, and technology. The FemEdTech Quilt of Care and Justice in Open Education was a collaborative quilting project emerging from the FemEdTech network. Through a posthuman lens, this chapter explores the lives and purposes of the FemEdTech Quilt assemblage, using makers’ stories of their quilt squares, images, and Markov chain poetry, alongside ‘unseen’ contributions such as the thoughts, feelings, readings, and memories articulated within a slow ontology of feminist praxis, that authors shared during Thinking Environment conversations.
