As someone who had to watch Eng defeated by the Saffies extraordinay drop goals at the RWC1999 it was gratifying to see Ford delivering the same to a southern hemisphere team.
Was it pretty rugby? No.
Was it a demonstration of a 14 man team pulling together and playing out of their skins ( particularlywhen most Eng fans expected them to fall apart)? Probably, particularly in the Scrums & Lineouts.

It looked like the Argentinians were completely unsettled, expecting the team that got beaten by Fiji and then Curry got sent off and England dug deep to find fire & self belief. From that Ford sliced them apart with his boot and the Argentinians lost their heads. Sometimes it's just about winning.

"Turgid without tries"...if you only want a try fest watch League.
